Is it just me or is New Year's Eve totally overrated? I'm bound and determined to find the fun on NYE every year ... and I typically am underwhelmed. This year was a nice night out, but I think I was overdressed. :)
So, here we are - 2008. What in the world? How did we get to the year 2008? Does anyone else feel weird about this? Is it a sign I'm getting old that I feel weird about this? Well, whatever ... age is just a number, right?
This year I'm hoping to see my life move up the hill and not down. Then again, who starts a new year wishing for anything else? Alright, so I'm totally cliche and predictable.
I'm just tired of living a complacent life. I feel like there are numerous areas in my life that are in need of a makeover. So, how does that become a reality? In years past it has been one failed attempt after another. So, maybe prayer is the answer. Bradley's sermon on Sunday (www.ctkcambridge.org) was about prayer and it really just left me bottomed out.
The other thing that's been really bugging me lately is that I can't seem to sleep through the night. Every once in a while I have a spell of a couple weeks where I wake up repeatedly all night. Well, this one has been since before Christmas, so I'm kinda coming to the end of my rope here. Last night I even took an over-the-counter sleep aid and I STILL woke up at 4am. grrr I don't know what to do. Right now it is 9:26am and I am SO SLEEPY. Maybe working out will help - exhaust myself at the end of the day. Man, I just can't help but think it's anxiety related. The holidays are their own mess lately without Mom and then I came back to some major decisions here. I NEED TO RELAX. I need to sleep.
Have you ever known one of those people who get severely agitated when they're hungry? My nephew, Jake, (& his mommy!) are this way. Over Christmas he was being such a stinker - all kinds of attitude flying... then we fed him and it was like we gave him some kind of drug. He was instantly sweet again and laughing - he even said, "Man I was really hungry!" haha
Well, I can be like that when I don't get enough sleep. When I'm tired I have the hardest time filtering my attitude and if it goes on long enough I end up really weepy. NOT GOOD.
So, I know there are dozens of friends of mine who blog about their kids sleep habits, but I'm asking - does anyone have any thoughts on adult sleeping? Any tricks? (and please don't suggest warm milk before bed - ew)

I never sleep through the night. I thought it was normal. However, I never have any trouble going back to sleep.
